The Village of Stone Park Board of Trustees received department updates and logistical briefings at its Dec. 10 meeting and adjourned at 7:10 PM.
Police Director Chris Pavini reported that Officer Brandon Lopez resigned effective Dec. 4. Pavini said recruit Brian Storce remains in training and that recruit Greg Mikoda is expected to graduate from the police academy in January and begin field training. Pavini also said department members have qualified in Taser training.
Trustee Marco A. Gutierrez reviewed bills and expenses for Nov. 12–Dec. 10, 2024, and said he will be seeking approval of Ordinance 24-22, the tax-levy ordinance for 2024, at a future meeting; the minutes do not record a trustee vote on that ordinance at this session. Trustee Loretta J. Teets reminded volunteers about Pancakes with Santa on Dec. 14 (volunteers at 8:00 AM, program at 9:00 AM) and the Christmas Parada that evening; Public Works Director Jessica Ramirez said holiday decorations and parade float setups are complete and snow equipment has been serviced.
Fire liaison Jack Giuffre presented the Village of Melrose Park Fire & Ambulance activity report for October and November; the Fire Marshal was excused but a deputy clerk reported work on two prior fire alarms and a system showing trouble status. The Fire & Police Commissioner’s office scheduled entry-level written testing for police applicants on Dec. 12 at Public Works #2; oral interviews will be scheduled separately.
Trustee Marco A. Gutierrez moved to adjourn the meeting; Trustee Loretta J. Teets supported the motion. The minutes record unanimous aye votes from trustees and show the meeting adjourned at 7:10 PM.
