A unit citation was awarded to members who responded to a fully involved structure fire on December 7, 2025 at 610 Lake Avenue in Bronxville, where crews performed multiple rescues and prevented fire extension in a pre‑war multiple dwelling. The board also presented a civilian award to Mr. Nidi Coochie, the building superintendent at 610 Lake Avenue, for entering a smoke‑filled environment and removing a trapped occupant; the proclamation read at the meeting cited his actions as exemplary civic courage.
Chief Tween and Assistant Chief Yaza thanked staff and support personnel (including Ms. Jamie Hedstrom and Eon/Eong Smith) and requested a moment of silence later in the meeting for recently deceased volunteers and relatives of members.
