The Hillsdale Community Library Board of Trustees voted April 6 to strike Article 5.1.d from the board bylaws, eliminating a requirement that the annual report be submitted to the mayor and city council at the April annual meeting.
Trustee Elyse Apel moved to strike Article 5.1.d, which the board said no longer aligns with the library’s fiscal year. The board indicated it will follow Bylaw II.8 instead, submitting the annual report in August or September so the document covers the previous fiscal year. Eric Moore supported the motion; the vote was 4-0 in favor with President George Allen absent with notice.
Visitor Jack McClain had earlier asked about the purpose of the bylaw change. The board did not set a new deadline beyond the August/September window described; staff will prepare the annual report under the revised timeline.
