Southampton’s longtime municipal clerk Kathleen D. Hoffman retires; Melanie L. Brown sworn in as clerk

At its June 18 meeting the Southampton Township Committee honored municipal clerk and administrator Kathleen D. Hoffman on her retirement after 12 years in the role and 27 years in municipal government.
Kim White of the Burlington County Clerks Association presented Ms. Hoffman with a proclamation and said the association will make a donation in her name to an organization of her choice. "Kathleen D. Hoffman thanked the Committee, employees and residents of Southampton for the honor of being able to serve," the minutes record. Committee members individually thanked Ms. Hoffman during the meeting for her years of service.
The Committee approved Resolution 2024-78 appointing Melanie L. Brown as Municipal Clerk; the minutes record that Ms. Hoffman administered the oath of office to Melanie L. Brown during the meeting. The vote on that resolution passed by roll call with Committeeman James Young recorded as abstaining.
Committee members also used the meeting to announce local events and to recognize municipal volunteers and department reports. The minutes note that the Committee entered executive session later in the meeting on personnel matters and reconvened without formal action before adjourning at 7:45 p.m.
