Swatara Township voted June 10 to award the Chambers Point Park construction contract to the lowest responsible bidder for $248,411, moving forward on final improvements outside the playground area.
Manager Trafa described the amended low bid and the park scope: a pavilion concrete pad, a half‑basketball court over a storm‑water basin, fencing, and related site work and paving. The township engineer recommended award to Rogel (bidder listed in the bid tabulation). "The bid amount is $248,411," staff said.
Commissioners discussed minor site logistics, including placement of a concrete pad for temporary restroom facilities and distance from adjacent residences; staff said they would review final pad location with the engineer to minimize neighbor impacts.
The board approved the award by voice vote; the contractor will schedule mobilization and the township will coordinate final pad and restroom placement with adjacent property owners.
Next steps: staff will finalize contract documents, confirm schedule with the engineer and contractor, and monitor construction.
