Borough Clerk Bonnie Taft told the board that "the state of New Jersey has suspended the fee for marriage licenses from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023." The statement was included in the clerk's department report entered into the meeting record.
Borough Administrator and DPW Superintendent Dave Taraschi reported he had provided the mayor with an analysis of borough trees and said he hoped residents "enjoyed the fireworks last night" and that the borough could use the same fireworks company next year. Commissioners Whitman and Lee both thanked residents and volunteers for a successful July 4 celebration.
Mayor Jakubowski announced that movie nights will start Thursday and said this week's movie is The Wizard of Oz. The meeting record also notes attached monthly reports from the fire department, library, recreation center and other departments; no new budget or policy changes were proposed during the reports.
The solicitor noted a new date has been set for a hearing on the gas station property; the minutes do not specify that date. The public portion was opened and closed without any members of the public speaking.
