Audubon officials announce tree outreach event, Audubon Day logistics and police K‑9 visits

During commissioner comments at the March 21 meeting, Commissioner Lee said the department's new canine, Disney, is roughly 11 months old, already assisting officers and visiting schools and the Young at Heart Social Club, and that the APD has received community financial support for the program. Commissioner Whitman noted that the borough introduced the 2023 budget that evening and that the public hearing will be on April 18.
Mayor Jakubowski promoted two community events: a Sustainable Audubon "Let's Talk Trees" session on March 30 at the Audubon Senior Center and Audubon Day on Saturday, April 29 at the FJW Recreation and Community Center. For Audubon Day, the borough will work with the county to provide free shuttle services for seniors; attendees may park or walk to the Municipal Building at 606 W. Nicholson Road, with shuttles running every half hour between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The mayor encouraged residents to volunteer for Audubon Day and noted the Audubon Celebration Committee is coordinating the event.
