At its Feb. 25, 2026 meeting, the Weston County School District #1 Board of Trustees accepted three certified resignations and authorized posting the middle school principal position.
Superintendent LaCroix recommended the board accept the resignation of Susie LaCroix as the district’s ELL teacher/coordinator and Title I math teacher effective at the end of the school year. Trustee Joe Prell moved to approve the resignation; Trustee Susan Pillen seconded, and the motion carried. The board thanked Susie LaCroix for her years of service.
Superintendent LaCroix also recommended the board accept the certified resignation of Tyler Bartlett as middle school principal, effective at the end of the school year, and to post the vacancy. Chairman Billy Fitzwater moved to accept the resignation and post the position; Trustee Dana Gordon seconded and the motion carried. The board expressed appreciation for Bartlett’s service.
The board approved the certified resignation of Nikki Bartlett as a middle school English teacher and as the middle school girls head soccer coach, effective at the end of the school year. Trustee Dana Gordon moved to approve the resignation; Trustee Susan Pillen seconded and the motion carried. Board members thanked her for her service to the district.
In related personnel scheduling, the board approved an earlier start time for its March 11 meeting so members may convene an executive session. Superintendent LaCroix recommended, and the board approved, a 5:00 p.m. early start March 11 for an executive session under Wyoming statute W.S. 16-4-405(x) to discuss administrators’ evaluations and contracts and the initial and continuing contracts for non‑tenured teachers. Trustee Dana Mann-Tavegia moved the schedule change; Trustee Dana Gordon seconded and the motion carried.
The board’s actions were recorded as motions with trustees moving and seconding those recommendations; all passed by unanimous voice vote as noted in the minutes. The board did not discuss replacements beyond approving that the principal position be posted.
Next procedural steps: the district will post the middle school principal vacancy; no timeline for candidates or interviews was included in the minutes.
