Weston County School District #1 trustees approve consent agenda, post special-education director job and authorize grant application

The Weston County School District #1 Board of Trustees approved the meeting agenda and carried a consent agenda that included approval of March 25 regular- and executive-session minutes, routine bills and warrants, and several extra-duty personnel changes.

Trustee Paul Bau moved to approve the consent agenda; Trustee Tyler Mills seconded and the motion carried. The consent items listed in the minutes include an extra-duty resignation from Payton Watt as middle-school assistant football coach, Payton Watt’s recommendation as middle-school head football coach, a recommendation to appoint Hannah Hieb as high-school student-council advisor, community-education contracts for Hannah Cummings and multiple warrants across district funds.

The minutes itemize the warrants approved under the consent agenda: General Fund Warrants #692552–692596 for $88,111.44; Activity Fund Warrants #13061–13077 for $20,036.16; Lunch Fund Warrants #6403–6405 for $17,523.89; Agency Fund Warrants #3005–3006 for $241.73; Special Revenue Fund Warrants #6817–6822 for $34,441.65; and Major Maintenance Fund Warrants #3257–3259 for $6,819.43.

In old business, Superintendent Brad LaCroix recommended posting the special-education director position; Trustee Joe Prell moved and Trustee Jason Jenkins seconded the motion to post the job, which carried. In new business, trustees approved a motion by Trustee Paul Bau and seconded by Trustee Sean Crabtree to complete and submit the district’s consolidated grant application.

Trustees also approved classified personnel items recorded in the minutes: acceptance of a resignation from Sophia Tidyman (maintenance technician), and a classified recommendation to hire Cameah Stevens as a special-education paraprofessional. The board approved a resignation from Keeley Anderson as middle-school at-risk coach; the minutes record the motion and that it carried.
