Scott City council renews 911 dispatch agreement, securing roughly $486,000 in county reimbursement

The Scott City Council on Feb. 2 authorized Mayor Rick Brashear to sign a renewed agreement with the Scott County 911 Emergency Service Board to continue Scott City’s role as a public safety answering point.

City Administrator Dustin Whitworth told the council the Scott County 911 Emergency Board reimburses the city for roughly half of the dispatch budget, which he estimated at approximately $486,000 funded by the county 911 tax. Council Member Victor Phillips moved to authorize the mayor to execute the agreement; Council Member Randy Morse seconded the motion.

The council approved the measure on a roll-call vote with the seven members present voting in favor: Mike Rhymer, Gary Miller, Victor Phillips, Heather Ingvalson, Jack Howard, Brian Pender and Randy Morse. The minutes noted the council seat was vacant for one position; there were no votes opposed or recorded abstentions.
