Bolivar council appoints Melissa Conley to fill vacant seat

The Village of Bolivar Council on Dec. 5, 2024 appointed Melissa Conley to the council’s vacant seat, filling the position left open earlier this year. Council member Bellinger told colleagues the interview committee—Bellinger, Mayor Robert Lloyd and Loretta Diveley—interviewed two finalists and recommended Conley based on "paralegal and finance" experience.
Bellinger moved to appoint Conley and White seconded; the council voted unanimously (Bellinger, Conley, Oberlin, Pancoe and White recorded as yes on the motion). Mayor Robert Lloyd then swore in Melissa Conley.
The appointment comes amid routine council business that included budget and contract votes. The council did not record any public objections to the appointment during the meeting. The appointment is effective immediately as of the Dec. 5 swearing-in.
