Botkins to seek industrial-park and parks grant; Access Engineering to take over South Street construction

Village Administrator Randy Purdy reported that Mote & Associates is being sold and will no longer handle South Street construction; Access Engineering has agreed to take over the Phase I construction oversight and will make necessary changes for Phase II.

Purdy told council that PAB Construction's tentative start date for Phase I has been pushed to April because of weather-related delays and that Access Engineering will schedule a pre-construction meeting. The village presented a packet for an Industrial Park Infrastructure Grant and Purdy identified an alternate option, the federal/state 629 Program; council agreed the best funding strategy appears to be to pursue the project as a single phase to increase the possibility of loan forgiveness or higher funding.

Council asked staff to obtain CAD files and other documentation from Mote & Associates for village records. Purdy said letters have been sent to affected residents, a legal advertisement will run in the Sidney Daily News, and the rezoning public forum is scheduled for March 18 at 6 p.m. at the Palazzo; staff will post notices at standard posting locations and on village social media.

Next steps: Administration will proceed with grant application work, seek necessary documents from Mote & Associates, schedule the pre-construction meeting with PAB Construction and Access Engineering, and hold the public forum on March 18.
