Library board adopts corrections to March minutes and adds $400 for minute-taking

The Sumner County Library Board on April 23 approved a set of amendments to the March 26, 2025 minutes and increased the budget for minute-taking.
Trustee Shannon Burgdorf proposed changes to the minutes that included altering the "Absent" section to read "with notice" and removing language stating she had refused to attend Facilities Committee meetings. Regional Library Director Cecilie Maynor requested two corrections in section 12.f: the Tech Grant date should read April 30 (not April 15) and her title should not include "Asst." The board also voted to remove a line in section 8.b stating "The Board can pull these books."
Multiple motions were made to approve the various amendments. Jackie Wilber and Jim Holcomb moved and seconded amendments that passed unanimously; other motions passed with recorded nay votes (Joanna Daniels and/or Jim Holcomb on specific motions). After the sequence of amendments, a motion to approve the amended minutes was made and passed.
Separately, the board agreed to increase the budget line for regular board meeting minute-taking by $400, bringing the total for the year to $1,000; the motion to increase the budget (moved by Jim Holcomb, seconded by Jackie Wilber) passed unanimously. Hendersonville Library staff indicated the library currently holds the line item in its budget.
