Council authorizes disposal or donation of obsolete police electronics

The Village of Northfield Regular Council voted on April 10 to authorize the police department to dispose of or donate old electronic equipment that the department no longer uses.
Police Chief Brian Zajac told council that data the department needed to retain had already been removed and that any unneeded sensitive data would be destroyed in an appropriate manner. A full list of items to be disposed, destroyed, or donated was provided to council as part of the meeting materials. Kevin Lewis moved the motion and Alan Hipps seconded; the motion passed on a roll‑call vote with Jesse Ferko, Renell Noack, Nick Magistrelli, Alan Hipps and Kevin Lewis voting yes.
