Law Director Brad Bryan clarified the motion on the record as “a motion to temporarily suspend Sections 1064.01(a), (b), and (m) of the Codified Ordinances relating to the Village Park Rules of Conduct for persons with tickets to and participating in the Village Adult Egg Hunt at Smith Park on the evening of March 22, 2024.” The motion was moved by Councilmember Alan Hipps and seconded by Councilmember Gary Vojtush. Roll-call votes recorded Mr. Ferko-yes; Ms. Noack-yes; Mr. Vojtush-yes; Mr. Magistrelli-yes; Mr. Hipps-yes; the motion was approved.
The recreation board had told council the adult event will start at 8:00 p.m., will include food trucks and headlamps, and that attendance will be by ticket. The waiver applies specifically to ticketed participants at the adult event; the village did not extend a permanent change to park rules beyond this single event.
