Local towing operators ask Northfield council for consideration; cemetery insurance and community events noted

At the May 8 meeting of the Village of Northfield council, two residents asked to be considered for a municipal towing contract and council members recorded several community-board updates.
Addison Peet and Kaylee Peet of 101 Heights Avenue told the council they operate a towing business and an impound lot in Bedford Heights and asked to be considered for providing towing services to the Village. Police Chief Brian Zajac responded that the village presently uses Interstate Towing and that he would speak with the Peets about the Police Department's requirements for providing such services to the village.
Cemetery Board Chair Renell Noack reported the Cemetery Board will meet May 16 to review its budget; if the budget is resolved, she said it will be submitted for approval at the next council meeting. The board is also reviewing insurance coverage for historic quilts that may be displayed at the fire station; the board indicated it would cover insurance costs if the items are not already insured.
Mayor Jenn Domzalski reported the Recreation Board will meet June 5 and noted the first movie in the park, Super Mario Brothers, is scheduled for the evening of Saturday, June 15. Councilperson Renell Noack reminded members about the May 18 Klutch tour/visit.
