Northfield engineer: sewer work done, paving to begin this month; three hydrants to be replaced

Engineer Daniel Collins told the Village of Northfield Council on June 12 that the Cambridge Drive, Stratford Drive and a portion of Huntington Drive reconstruction project is in progress: underground sewer work has been completed, the 8-inch roadway underdrain should be finished by late next week, and pavement work is expected to begin by the end of the month. Collins said he has received questions but no resident complaints and that residents will receive a fourth informational notice and instructions before paving starts.
Fire Lt. Robert Davet reported that hydrant flushing was completed last month and that all hydrants in the village are currently functional. He added that three hydrants are scheduled for replacement by Cleveland Water this summer due to age. Police Chief Brian Zajac had no additional items beyond his written monthly report; Service Department Superintendent Jason Walters was not present.
Mayor Jenn Domzalski also noted Recreation Board plans, including a movie-in-the-park showing of Super Mario Brothers on June 15 (sundown) and The Sandlot on July 20. The council did not take further action on the reconstruction at the meeting; staff will continue to coordinate resident notices and contractor scheduling.
