Northfield engineer: Cambridge, Stratford and portion of Huntington project set to begin May 6

The Village of Northfield’s engineer said pre-construction work is complete and active construction for several street reconstruction projects is scheduled to begin in early May.
Engineer Daniel Collins told council a pre-construction meeting for the Cambridge Drive, Stratford Drive and portion of Huntington Drive reconstruction took place April 19 and that construction is scheduled to start May 6. He said information about the project was hand-delivered to about 70 residents who will be affected.
Collins also said ODOT plans to resurface State Route 8 from Sagamore Road to Valley View Road in the summer of 2028; the Village was told it would be financially responsible for any non-road-surface work requested by the Village that exceeds $25,000.
Collins said he has received resident questions about the project and that initial feedback has been positive. Council did not take additional action on the item at the meeting.
