Director Dan Hoock told the commission that summer camp begins Monday, July 6; new staff orientation is set for June 29 and full staff orientation for June 30. He said only a few camper slots remain at Lions Park while other campsites are full.
Hoock said the Farmer’s Market is performing well in its new location in front of the Public Library and that library restroom facilities are available for market use.
On the Summer Celebration, Hoock reported he had met with police, the school district and vendors to coordinate logistics. He said about 35 groups will participate in the parade, vendors are confirmed, and golf carts will be available for people with mobility needs. He noted that ground work near the high school football field may make portions of the walkway tighter than usual but remain passable. Commissioners plan to discuss timing and location for the 2027 celebration after this year’s event.
No formal votes were taken; logistics remain staff responsibilities ahead of each event.
