Village Administrator Randy Purdy updated council Jan. 28 that South Street Phase 1 information letters have been mailed to residents and a pre-construction meeting will be scheduled; he warned that Phase 2’s Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) funding curing deadline is Feb. 20 and that a funding update is not expected until late spring.
Purdy also said the village posted its administration vehicle for a sealed-bid sale and will circulate anonymized bid amounts to council after bids are opened. A resident requested closure of a portion of Huber Street for a graduation party; Purdy said council had no objection provided adjacent homeowners approve the closure.
In committee reports, the Botkins Community Improvement Corporation (BCIC) reported signing a certificate of action for a land sale and adopting a new records retention policy. Attorney Jason This told council he has the documents needed for the land sale and that staff are working on a closing date.
Later in the meeting, council moved into an executive session to discuss a potential sale of real property (mover: Lucas Greve; seconder: Nick Greve) and then re-entered the regular session; no further public details or votes about any sale were recorded in the minutes. Motions approving the agenda and minutes, and procedural motions to enter and exit executive session and to adjourn, were recorded as carried with the named movers and seconders but without a roll-call vote tally beyond “all voted in favor.”
The meeting minutes do not record any final decisions about property sales or South Street funding at the Jan. 28 session; next steps cited were scheduling a pre-construction meeting and working toward a land-sale closing date.
