Thayne council waives fee for snow-cone vendor, approves one-year permit for coffee trailer

Charlie and Bryan Flud told the Thayne Town Council they planned to operate a snow-cone trailer during June, July and August alongside the town’s recreation programs and requested use of the community center freezer and electricity. The council voted to waive the $50 business-license fee and permit the trailer to operate on Town property.
Kaitlyn Vigna asked the council for permission to place a coffee and toasted baked-goods trailer — Local Grind — on property owned by Juan Herrera off Main Street. Vigna said the trailer will use a grey-water holding tank emptied by truck and will rely on Herrera’s water connection while working out power; she said she planned to carry insurance. Councilmembers voted to approve a one-year temporary building permit for Local Grind; Vigna must still obtain a business license and finalize power arrangements.
Councilmember Passey moved both approvals and Councilmember Woolley seconded; motions carried. Council did not attach additional conditions to the snow-cone permit beyond standard permitting requirements.
