Interboro board approves personnel, contracts and program items in unanimous votes
Summary
Following budget adoption, the Interboro Board approved a slate of routine motions — personnel changes, contracts for services, textbook proposals, program-of-studies and revised calendars — and approved appointments including Robert Kelly as director of human resources and Matthew Egan to add school police officer duties (contingent on certification). After adopting the district budget, the Interboro Board of School Directors moved through agenda motions covering personnel appointments, contracts, instructional materials and administrative programs; each item passed unanimously.
Personnel motions (9.01–9.12) included the promotion of the district’s transportation supervisor to director of transportation; the motion carried by voice vote reported as 9–0. The board approved curriculum and instructional items listed as 10.01–10.37 and special-education items 11.01–11.13, both by voice vote. Technology (12.01–12.10), facilities (13.01–13.02), athletics (14.01–14.03) and finance items (15.01–15.05) were likewise approved with unanimous votes.
The board approved several vendor and contractor agreements on the consent agenda: an independent contractor agreement with J. Kelly as residency officer for July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027 not to exceed $10,000; a Diligent/BoardDocs subscription for $10,500; and PIMS reporting services from the Chester County Intermediate Unit for $44,640. The board also approved a contract with the Kids Stop before-and-after-school program for 2026–27.
The board approved motion 23 to employ Mr. Robert Kelly as director of human resources — effective July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2031 — and established salary and benefits as presented. During discussion a board member publicly commended Kelly’s work with contract negotiations and personnel oversight. The board then approved motion 24 appointing Matthew Egan, the district’s school safety coordinator, to also serve as a school police officer effective July 1, 2026; that appointment is contingent on meeting certification, training and court approval.
Motions on textbook proposals (20), the final program of studies for 2026–27 (21), and revised calendars for pre-K through grade 8 (22) also passed by roll call. Board members closed the meeting with summer well-wishes and reminders about the district website and upcoming virtual meetings.
