The Milton Recreation Commission reported that outreach for a recreation master plan survey has yielded 107 responses to date from online and paper submissions.
Commissioners discussed additional promotion steps to increase participation, including tabling at farmer’s markets, emailing teachers, sharing the survey with school PTAs, including a link in the Recreation Department e‑newsletter and program receipts, distributing yard signs, and asking activity instructors to hand out QR‑coded business cards. Rod Moore and staff planned a follow‑up meeting to discuss an engagement board concept to further promote the survey.
One commissioner asked whether the survey questions could be consolidated to reduce completion time and improve response rates; staff and members agreed that shorter survey flow would be considered as part of outreach work. The minutes record no formal vote or policy decision on survey content.
The commission was invited to present updates at the Selectboard meeting on June 15, where applicants for two open commission seats will be scheduled for brief interviews if needed.
