Milton Recreation Commission plans $30,000 fireworks show, seeks more sponsors for July 4 celebration

The Milton Recreation Commission reviewed plans for a town Fourth of July celebration that will include an Army Band performance at Bombardier Park, a marching band in the parade, live music, food trucks and family activities, and a 20‑minute fireworks display.

The meeting record references a Director’s Note summarizing event logistics and says the fireworks display is expected to cost $30,000. The commission has secured $12,800 in sponsorships so far and is continuing to solicit additional sponsors to cover the balance. The Recreation Department also purchased an inflatable screen for a Hometown Hero’s tribute and said it is looking for community volunteers with the technical skills to set up and operate the screen and projector.

The commission listed additional planned attractions including a hat bar, face painting, a bounce house, bubbles, lawn games and (potentially) golf. Recreation staff reported they have located a marching band for the parade and continue outreach to other local bands.

Logistics for the Holiday Light Parade and the July 4 event have been discussed with the Town Manager and Police Chief, according to the meeting record. No formal budget appropriation or final contract award for the fireworks is recorded in the minutes; the record shows sponsorship fundraising in progress and planning steps underway.

The commission noted volunteer and technical staffing needs and asked members to help recruit community volunteers who can operate audiovisual equipment for the tribute screen. The next scheduled meeting is July 8, 2026.
