Johnstown Planning Board grants one-year extension for James Chevrolet site plan

The Johnstown Planning Board on Feb. 3 unanimously approved a one-year extension for James Chevrolet’s previously approved site plan for its Route 38 facility at the corner of Route 30 and State Highway 67. Chairman Peter Smith said the delay in completing the project was attributable to the New York State Department of Transportation approval process related to traffic and curb cuts, and that the applicant has now obtained those approvals.
The extension preserves the board’s 2024 approvals, which included a SEQRA environmental review, a referral to the Fulton County Planning Board under General Municipal Law §239, notice to the Town of Johnstown and a duly noticed public hearing. City Clerk Carrie M. Allen reported that the Code Enforcement Officer advised there have been no changes to the approved plans.
Board Member Roberta Thomas moved to grant the one-year extension; Board Member Chandra Cotter seconded. The motion passed 5-0 (Ayes: 5, Noes: 0, Absent: 0). The board and applicant noted work will proceed once weather permits and required state approvals and site preparations are complete.
