Oak Park MAC approves new plantings in five CSA #4 areas

The Oak Park Municipal Advisory Council voted 5-0 on Oct. 26 to approve new plantings in five areas maintained by County Service Area (CSA) #4, accepting a proposal brought forward by the MAC's Standing Landscape Committee.
Michael Paule introduced the committee's recommendation and said the proposal identified specific planting plans for five CSA #4 locations. Greg Epstein of Enhanced Landscape attended the meeting to answer technical and cost questions raised by MAC members.
The motion to approve the proposal passed on a motion by Jay Kapitz, seconded by Derek Ross, and recorded as unanimous in the minutes. The MAC also discussed a separate incident in which a landscape watering meter box near 204 Kanan Road was destroyed in a vehicle accident; the box was valued at $4,700 and county staff said they were pursuing cost recovery from the driver.
Why it matters: The approved plantings will guide maintenance and improvements in public landscaping areas managed through CSA #4 and set the framework for contractor work under county oversight.
