The Oak Park Municipal Advisory Council on Nov. 30 honored outgoing member Jay Kapitz for five-and-a-half years of service and swore in three members to the dais.
Ventura County Supervisor Linda Parks presented a written resolution from the Board of Supervisors praising Kapitz’s contributions; Chair Mike Green gave Kapitz an engraved acrylic award from the MAC. Members credited Kapitz with leadership on the Oversized Vehicle Ordinance, chairing school bond election campaigns and initiating National Night Out events.
Kapitz thanked his colleagues and community supporters and said the MAC’s accomplishments reflect “action by committed individuals.” Michael Paule, Derek Ross and Mike Mc Reynolds each praised Kapitz’s leadership and mentorship during brief remarks.
Supervisor Parks administered the oath of office to Michael Green, Michael Paule and Alon Glickstein, and the newly sworn members took their seats on the dais. Chair Green closed the recognition by noting Kapitz would continue to participate in community events and MAC liaison work.
