Oak Park residents press concerns over Verizon plan to replace 40‑foot poles with 60‑foot monopoles; MAC continues review

Kristin Galardo, Zoning Manager for CORE Development Services, presented Verizon Wireless’ Minor Modification LU10‑0076 proposing to replace three existing 40‑foot monopoles with three 60‑foot monopoles and add one antenna to each pole at 4996 Kilburn Court.
Several residents who live near the Kilburn water tank — Robert A. Scrofano, Miriam Wolverton, John Reese and Jamie King — told the Municipal Advisory Council they were worried about the visual and neighborhood impacts of taller poles. They urged measures such as camouflaging or “stealth” treatments for equipment, limits on how often companies perform street work in residential areas, and stronger advance notification for nearby residents about construction activity. Mike Mc Reynolds suggested discussing the construction‑notification concerns together with an ongoing Kilburn street‑construction item.
