Oak Park MAC backs considering Area Plan revisions to add wireless facility standards

Members of the Oak Park Municipal Advisory Council on May 3 agreed to consider amending the Oak Park Area Plan to add standards for wireless communications facilities similar to those in the Ojai Valley Area Plan.
Alon Glickstein and other MAC members expressed support for updating local standards to reflect current practice. Ventura County Supervisor Linda Parks told the council the Board of Supervisors would need to authorize the work and that County Service Area (CSA) #4 funds could be used to share the cost. MAC members agreed to consider the expense as part of the coming year’s CSA #4 budget; no formal appropriation or Board authorization was recorded at the meeting.
The discussion noted that parts of Oak Park’s zoning in the Ventura County General Plan are obsolete and that adding wireless facility standards would bring the Area Plan into closer alignment with neighboring planning documents. The council did not adopt final language or set a firm funding commitment at the May 3 meeting; members agreed to return to the item during upcoming budget discussions.
