Council approves $32,403 payment request for east booster pump; engineer urges grant extension

Robert Hood of Sunrise Engineering told the council that the East Booster Pump structure is largely complete — the fence and gravel are in place and about 75% of the siding is finished — and that the pump unit is on site but will not be installed until early October. Hood recommended the town seek an extension to the associated grant to accommodate the installation schedule.
The council moved to approve Payment Request #2 for the East Booster Pump Improvements in the amount of $32,403.15 (motion: Councilmember Passey; second: Councilmember Heward; motion carried). The transcript records the dollar amount and that the motion carried; it does not include a roll-call vote tally.
Hood also updated council on related infrastructure items: he is awaiting confirmation whether a grant can be used to purchase materials for a local irrigation project; a retaining-wall design for a canal is under way; and the town’s impact-fee study is about 30% complete and will inform recommended impact fees (the last study was in 2012).
No additional funding appropriations beyond the recorded payment request were approved at the meeting; staff and the engineer will continue grant coordination and project scheduling.
