City receives bids for Wataha playground equipment and Northeast Detention Basins; low bidders noted

The City opened bids on Oct. 1 for two capital projects. For the Wataha Recreation Complex playground equipment, Star Playgrounds submitted the low bid at $83,563. Other bidders and amounts included Great Western Recreation ($92,413.32), Luckydog Recreation ($100,450.90) and Dakota Playgrounds ($113,280).
For the Northeast Detention Basins project, Searle Bros Construction submitted a low bid of $2,225,913.79; DeBernardi Construction Company submitted $2,895,923.23. The Council did not award either contract during the Oct. 1 meeting; bids were opened for the public record and will advance through procurement review.
