At the Dec. 30 meeting the Village of New Bremen held Second Reading Ordinance 2024-12-31 on an annexation agreement involving 21.691 acres owned by Easthaven LLC and Crown Equipment Corporation. Village Administrator Richter said water and sewer service are currently provided to the parcels, electric service would be added under the agreement and the village would pay German Township $5,000 in lieu of some tax revenues as part of the annexation arrangement.
Council also noted that the Planning Commission met on Dec. 17 and approved the plat for Cardinal Subdivision Phase 3, which contains 29 lots, and accepted the streets and easements dedicated to the village. Council introduced First Reading Ordinance 2024-12-32 to accept the plat, streets and easements; no final council vote on the plat acceptance or the annexation was recorded at this meeting.
The transcript contains two slightly different references to the mid-December bid opening for Vine and Park streets (one segment lists Dec. 19 while another lists Dec. 17); the record in this article follows the council’s statements that Planning Commission action occurred Dec. 17 and that the annexation was presented on second reading.
