Parks & Recreation Director J.C. Kennedy told the board he had met with the planning department, and Planning Director Mrs. Trautman suggested the change to align how the city updates park-related fees with the annual process used for other city fees. The proposed language would amend Section 16.09.080, "Calculation of Impact Fee," to allow fees to be set by the City Council through its annual fee resolution.
Don Mitchell moved to approve Park Advisory Board Resolution 2024-01 recommending the code amendment; Lori Wood seconded the motion. The board approved the resolution. The action was a recommendation to the City Council; the board did not itself change the municipal code.
The recommendation will be forwarded to the City Council for consideration as part of the council's fee-resolution process. No additional fiscal details or council hearing dates were provided at the meeting.
