Northfield council approves Fabrizi Trucking bid for Cambridge, Stratford and Huntington reconstruction

Law Director Brad Bryan read Resolution No. 2024‑03 by title before Councilmember Alan Hipps moved and Councilmember Gary Vojtush seconded a motion to suspend the three‑reading rule. The motion passed on a roll‑call vote in which Councilmembers Jesse Ferko, Renell Noack, Gary Vojtush, Nick Magistrelli and Alan Hipps recorded 'yes' votes. Mr. Vojtush then moved to adopt the resolution and Mr. Hipps seconded; the adoption passed on the same recorded vote and the resolution was approved as an emergency measure.
Village Engineer Daniel Collins told the council that nine companies had picked up bid packets and the Village received seven bids; he said the low bid from Fabrizi was slightly below his engineer's estimate and that the Village's ongoing pavement maintenance has kept road ratings strong. "The Village roads are in great shape, and the Village road ratings are much better than those contained in reports I have prepared in the past for other communities," Collins said when summarizing his 2024 Street Paving Report.
The minutes do not list the contract dollar amount or the bid figure; Collins' remarks noted only that Fabrizi submitted the low bid slightly below the engineer's estimate. Council did not provide a schedule for construction in the minutes.
