Windham planning board fills CIP and WEDC seats, schedules regulation discussion

The Windham Planning Board on May 6 moved forward on committee staffing and regulatory review. The board considered membership on the Windham Economic Development Committee (WEDC) and the Capital Improvements Program (CIP) committee, and agreed to hear proposed site plan regulation changes at a future meeting from Ms. Vanessa Nysten.
Jack Gattinella moved to appoint Payal Ballaya and Greg Balestrieri to the CIP; the motion passed 5-0-1 with Balestrieri recorded as abstaining. Separately, Derek Monson moved to appoint Payal Ballaya to the WEDC; that motion passed 5-1 with Chairman Jacob Cross opposed.
Ms. Vanessa Nysten is scheduled to propose changes to the town’s site plan regulations at the next Planning Board meeting, and staff suggested the board discuss the proposed changes with Nysten before formal action.
The board also approved minutes for March 4, March 18 and April 15, 2026 (with several abstentions noted).
