Planning Board fills vacancies, recommends new Conservation liaison

The Planning Board entered non-public under RSA 91-A to consider applicants for board vacancies and returned to public session with multiple appointments. Chairman Jacob Cross announced that Derek Monson was appointed to the full member seat previously held by Matt Rounds. The Board also appointed Hussein Savichkin to a two-year alternate term, and DJ Withee and Joe Byron to one-year alternate terms. Chairman Cross said the board had planned to fill two seats but appointed four because of the high quality of applicants.
For committee assignments, the Board discussed recommending Monson as the Planning Board liaison to the Conservation Commission; Mr. Partington clarified that the Board of Selectmen makes the final appointment and the Planning Board provides a recommendation. Vice Chair Jack Gattinella moved to recommend Monson; Mr. Balestrieri seconded and the Board voted 4–0–1 in favor (Mr. Partington abstained).
Other formal actions at the meeting included approval of the February 18, 2026 minutes (motion passed 3–0–2; Cross, Gattinella, Ballaya—yes; Partington and Balestrieri—abstain) and a motion to adjourn at 9:08 p.m. (vote 5–0). New alternates will be sworn in at the town clerk's office, and staff was directed to post an advertisement for the Design Review Committee to attract additional members.
The Board also discussed onboarding for new alternates, including meeting with staff and attending workshops, but postponed other committee assignments until the new alternates could state preferences.
