Madame Clerk told the board the turnout for the primary was 26.3% and credited poll workers and county staff for keeping voting operations running during an unexpected power outage at the polling location. Certificates of appreciation were presented to individuals and a technology team that helped maintain operations.
Commissioner Medina moved to certify the canvas and Commissioner Shalley seconded the motion; the board approved the certification by voice vote.
The clerk said certified results will be filed as required under state law and thanked staff for their efforts during the election day disruption.
