CARY — The Cary Town Council unanimously approved on June 11 a rezoning request for 6708 Bandelier Lane, changing the site from Office Research & Development to R20 Conditional Use to allow construction of a single detached dwelling within the Carpenter historic special planning area.
Principal Planner Rachel Smith summarized the request and the planning board’s November recommendation for consistency with the Imagine Cary plan. The applicant added conditions addressing materials and form — including a continuous brick or brick‑veneered foundation, a minimum roof pitch, a front porch and restrictions on siding materials — intended to better align the new house with the surrounding historic district. Council adopted the rezoning ordinance and statement of consistency by unanimous vote.
