Urbana approves municipal repairs, traffic-signal design and wastewater purchase orders

Urbana City Council on Oct. 21 approved three Board of Control items unanimously.
Council authorized a $54,300 purchase order to The Masonry Standard Company LLC for exterior masonry, façade and window repairs to the Urbana Municipal Building. The expense will be charged to the General Capital Improvement Fund and was approved 7-0.
Council also awarded a contract to Compass Infrastructure Group, LLC for $636,329 (including $12,622 in optional tasks) to design roadway and traffic improvements and prepare right-of-way plans for the Urbana Traffic Signal Improvements, Phase 1 (ODOT PID #122411). The work will be funded over 2025–2028 from the local Capital Improvement Fund; Council noted $66,037 already available for the project from federal funds. The contract was approved 7-0.
Finally, Council approved increasing blanket purchase order 2025-00394 to SNF Polydyne by $15,000 for polymer used at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. The expense is charged to the Sewer Fund and was approved 7-0.
Each item was recommended by the Board of Control and carried by unanimous roll-call votes.
