Bill Lewis proposed that West Union host a free electronic-recycling event run by Eco Tech Revival and asked to use village facilities, noting the company triages devices for donation or appropriate disposal.
"I would like to propose that I can come and open the building and supervise," Lewis said, proposing Saturday, April 11, 2026, but offering to align the event with the village spring cleanup to increase participation. Council and staff discussed visibility, signage and facility access; Lewis said last year the event handled hundreds of devices and had attendees from surrounding counties.
Jason Francis moved and Chelsea Phelps seconded a motion to hold the electronic-recycling event at the village on the same day as spring cleanup; the motion passed by roll call with all yeas. Lewis said he will coordinate date changes if needed and will begin promoting the event when confirmed.
Council members asked staff to coordinate logistics including building access, signage, and whether the village water department or another indoor space would be used in case of rain.
