The West Union Village Council rescinded an earlier resolution and adopted a replacement to create a fund and appropriation for the 2026 MARCS grant at its Jan. 27 meeting.
Council took the first procedural action when Chelsea Phelps moved and Randy Brewer seconded a motion to rescind Resolution 2025-20; the motion passed by roll call (five yeas; Jason Francis absent). Later the council accepted Resolution 2026-2 to formally create the fund and appropriation by unanimous roll call.
The change was presented as a technical action to ensure the village has a proper line item to receive and spend MARCS grant funds. No public discussion or dissent was recorded during the motions.
The council did not provide further budget detail in the meeting minutes; staff will post appropriation language in subsequent meeting materials if additional allocations are required.
