Neighborhood gets council OK for partial Sixth Street closure for Halloween event

Council members asked about barricade placement, who would set them up and how they would be removed. Officials said the street department could set barricades and that the department typically drops barricades off (often on a Friday) for neighborhood events and then retrieves them the next workday; council asked Robertson to confirm details with the street superintendent. A motion to approve the partial street closure was made, seconded and carried by roll call.
Robertson thanked the council and said the event would be family-oriented.
The council did not specify permit fees or require insurance in the meeting record; the applicant was instructed to coordinate barricade pickup and exact placement with the street department.
