Center Street widening set to begin next week; town to coordinate tree removal and UDOT encroachment permit

Jacob Ames said a pre-construction meeting with contractor Staker Parsons was held and work is scheduled to begin next week. The aim is to finish the Main Street to 100 South widening before the town celebration. Councilor Jed Woodward agreed to arrange an encroachment permit with the Utah Department of Transportation and to have trees that must be removed taken down. The construction contract has been signed.
Councilors noted there may be extra pulverized asphalt from the project that could be reused for parking at the pickleball courts; staff will follow up on reuse and logistics.
No formal vote was required; the town has completed contracting and is moving to execution and coordination with UDOT and the contractor.
