Board adopts revised mill levy, approves 10 interactive panels and gym repairs, tables ADA doors

The Brush School District No. Re-2 Board of Education took several administrative and capital decisions during the meeting.
Finance and property tax: The board adopted Resolution 2024-08 to reflect an updated Morgan County assessed value and set the district mill levy accordingly. Mr Miller, the board treasurer, presented the revised county assessment figures and trustees approved the resolution by roll call.
Technology purchase: After debate about bulk purchasing versus sequential replacement, the board approved purchasing 10 interactive classroom panels now and asked technology staff to return with a request for additional units if the initial units are exhausted during the semester. The district's technology director said the vendor offered education pricing and a five-year warranty for educational institutions.
Facilities repairs: The board approved immediate repairs to two failed basketball hoops in the BMS gym over the upcoming break. Staff said an engineer had recommended inspecting the remaining hoops and that further work may be scheduled in the summer if necessary. The board also moved to table an ADA-doors project until full project cost estimates, including electrical work, are available.
Each of these motions passed on roll call during the meeting. Staff will follow up with contract documents, vendor quotes and timeline estimates for the items the board approved and tabled.
