Williams County commissioners on Jan. 13 approved an agreement and issued a Notice to Proceed for Project #9‑2025, the Wil‑CR 16 (CR 11) bridge deck replacement, contracting Zachrich Construction for a base bid of $870,322.51.
The contract—which the county engineer presented to the board—was approved by motion (moved by Commissioner Terry N. Rummel and seconded by Commissioner Bartley E. Westfall) and carried in a roll‑call vote recorded as Rummel: Yes; Westfall: Yes; Lirot: Not Present. The board authorized execution of the owner‑contractor agreement and set the project schedule: substantial completion is June 12, 2026, with final completion on June 26, 2026. A preconstruction meeting and submission of preconstruction documents will follow when state personnel are available.
County officials said the engineering and procurement steps required for federally influenced projects will proceed under county administration. Commissioners noted the project was advertised and bid according to the bidding documents on file with the Williams County Engineer’s Office; the formal agreement, contractor bid and Notice to Proceed are on file with the county.
What happens next: The contractor and county will attend a preconstruction meeting and complete required submittals. The county will monitor progress to the June substantial‑completion date. No public comment or protest of the award was recorded at the meeting.
