Lordstown council approves hiring, accepts resignation and posts planning job; resident urges shoulder repairs on Route 45

The Village of Lordstown Council approved several personnel measures and heard a public comment about local road shoulders.

The council voted to hire Anthony Fairbanks as a part‑time firefighter‑paramedic, pending a physical and background check. The motion was made by Lyman and seconded by Mr. Mosley; the record shows a voice vote in favor and indicates the motion carried.

Council then accepted the resignation of Dustin Linus effective March 6, 2026. Radka moved to accept Linus’s resignation and Mr. Blank seconded; the council approved the motion by voice vote. Following that item, Mr. Mosley moved and Mr. Blank seconded a motion to advertise for the assistant planning and zoning administrator position; the council approved that motion as well.

During the public‑comment portion of the meeting a resident urged council members (and specifically asked that "Martin and the committee chairman" speak with the responsible builder) to pursue contributions toward replacing shoulder sections on Route 45, saying in part, "those shoulders need to be replaced up there on 45" and noting that "TJ paid for all that on Bailey Road." The chair indicated he would contact Tom Gallagher to follow up.
