The Village of Valley View Planning Board on July 16 approved several agenda items, including a conditional 12‑month reprieve for accessory buildings at 7685 Hub Pkwy (L'Nique), a variance to permit a front‑facing entry door at 6690 Hathaway Rd., and two two‑year renewals for alteration of topography on the north and south sides of Rockside Rd.
Angela Klodnick of L'Nique told the board she had installed a shed larger than expected and currently has three sheds on the property. She apologized for not complying with ordinances and said the business—disrupted by the COVID pandemic—needs space to operate. ‘‘If we can plan an addition or secure a contract to build, we will remove the sheds,’’ she said. Solicitor Lambros recommended linking any reprieve to concrete next steps such as a construction plan or contract.
The board approved a 12‑month reprieve contingent on either submitting plans for an addition or removing the accessory buildings (motion by Secretary Marty Johnston, seconded by Joseph White). Roll call: Johnston, White, Bertovich, March, Spieth — all aye.
The board also approved a variance allowing a regular entry door where a sliding glass door had been proposed for an addition at 6690 Hathaway Rd. (motion by Commissioner Mike Bertovich, seconded by Councilman Jim Spieth). The board recorded that an initially requested 555‑square‑foot building‑area variance had been withdrawn after consultation with Building Inspector Ellis.
Pete Ristagno presented renewals to alter topography on both sides of Rockside Rd.; he said the south side totals about 122 acres and the north side about 181 acres (roughly 296 acres total) and described plans to develop the land in 10–12‑acre parcels for business uses. The board approved the north‑side renewal (motion by Commissioner Mike Bertovich, seconded by Marty Johnston) and the south‑side renewal (motion recorded as moved by Jim Spieth, seconded by Marty Johnston) by unanimous roll calls. The meeting minutes replicate the motion text for the south side with a reference to the north‑side parcel number; the clerk should confirm the record for the south‑side motion.
The board approved the June 18, 2024 meeting minutes at the start of the official meeting (moved by Commissioner Mike Bertovich, seconded by Jim Spieth). The meeting adjourned at 6:12 p.m.
