Versailles council authorizes $500,118 installment for aerial fire truck; approves multiple utility bids and personnel items

The Versailles Village Council on Nov. 24 approved several capital expenditures and procurement awards, authorized benefit and pay changes for 2026, and accepted a staff resignation.
Council authorized an installment payment of $500,118.00 to Rosenbauer Minnesota, LLC for an aerial fire truck under the five-year capital improvement plan (motion by Mr. Weaver; second Mr. Griesdorn; unanimous vote). Council also approved the Village’s 2026 HSA contributions (single $500; family $1,000) and a 3.5% increase to the 2026 hourly compensation program, effective Jan. 4, 2026.
For utility infrastructure, council awarded the Greenlawn Cemetery Area Waterline Improvements Project to Tom's Construction, Inc. ($266,576.00). For the McGreevey Road Substation major equipment, council approved vendor awards recommended by GPD Group: a 69kV–12.47kV power transformer to Virginia Transformer ($709,300.00); 15kV structure, bussing and switches to Tatman Associates ($324,252.00); a 15kV vacuum circuit breaker (Siemens unit) to Power Line Supply ($35,174.00); four 15kV vacuum circuit reclosers (Eaton units) to Power Line Supply ($104,604.00); and ten 7.2kV, 416.3 kVA voltage regulators to Wesco ($407,828.88). Council declined to approve Bid Item No. 6 (three relay and control panels) after finding the lone bid lacked a required performance bond and included unacceptable exceptions.
Council accepted the resignation of Luke Cox as Electric Lineman II, effective Dec. 5, 2025, and then entered executive session to consider personnel matters. The executive session began at 7:37 p.m. and ended at 7:53 p.m.; no public action was reported while in executive session.
All motions recorded in these items carried by unanimous votes of members present.
