Versailles council approves intergovernmental fire and EMS contracts
Summary

The Versailles Village Council on Nov. 24 unanimously approved a set of intergovernmental agreements to secure fire protection and emergency medical services for the village and surrounding jurisdictions.
At the meeting Mayor Todd M. Dammeyer and council moved each resolution to a final reading by title. Council Member Paulus introduced Resolution No. 25-49 authorizing a contract with York Township for fire protection; after Title readings, Mr. Steinbrunner moved to adopt the resolution, Ms. Shaffer seconded, and the council voted unanimously to approve it. Council followed the same procedure to approve Resolution No. 25-50 (Richland Township), Resolution No. 25-51 (Wayne Township — fire protection), Resolution No. 25-52 (Village of Russia — Emergency Medical Services) and Resolution No. 25-53 (Wayne Township — Emergency Medical Services); each was read by title and approved with an "all yeas" vote.
The motions directed the mayor and Fiscal Officer Alisha Apple to execute the contracts as authorized by the resolutions. Council did not record any dissent and offered no questions during the reading and approval of these items.
The approvals formalize intergovernmental arrangements the village uses to ensure continued fire and EMS coverage for Versailles residents and the village’s service territory.
