Grand County Library director reports growth in digital use and a new Kremmling site

Fraser — Maryanne Deckinger, executive director of the Grand County Library District, presented the district’s annual update on May 20, saying library visits and digital circulation have both grown and that the district is planning a new library in Kremmling.
Deckinger reviewed a facilities master plan completed since she began in April last year, described growth in digital resources and program attendance, and said the district has emphasized online resources while maintaining physical collections. "Digital is the light blue, physical is the dark blue," she told the trustees, noting digital circulation has become a leading part of overall usage.
Deckinger said the district closed on three and a half acres behind the Kremmling high school and has met with architects; the district expects to break ground in 2027 and aim for completion in early 2028. She also highlighted a newly created full-time marketing position, new and continuing programming (including a drought program planned for June 10), and 20th-anniversary events for Juniper and Granby branches.
Jeremy Kronh, board president for the Grand County Library District, thanked the town for support and said the library’s footprint is a key community asset. Trustees applauded the work and asked staff to keep the town informed about programming dates and opportunities for partnership.
